The domaine
Inspired by their travels and viticultural experiences in the New World, Maya Sallée and Nicolas Fernandz established themselves in 2015 on the Treypoux-Rassiels plateau southwest of Cahors in order to sublimate a dozen hectares of Malbec and Merlot. Wishing to offer the world living wines based on craftsmanship and respect for the vines and soils, the overflowing passion of this couple propels the Cahors appellation among the great contemporary biodynamic wines.
The wine
In pre-Columbian America, the Feathered Serpent was the deity of agriculture who gave the idea of wine to men to bring them happiness and intoxication. It is in memory of her youth in Mexico that Maya Sallée named this wine full of fruit and joy. On the limestone and ferruginous soils of the Causse hillsides, the dominance of Malbec magnified by a percentage of Merlot harmonize ripe currants and raspberries as well as minerality, resulting in a wine that is open and eager to be drunk. The 2019 vintage, although heterogeneous in the region, favored Cahors wines with a beautiful maturity and ideal climatic conditions during the harvest. Advice : To drink. Serve between 15°-16°C. No instructions for opening.
