The domaine
The Pellé family's epic story began in Morogues in the 20th century. This treasure trove of parcels spread over the region's tyhpical flint and Kimmeridgian marl soils is a strength that the Pellé family places at the heart of their wine philosophy, aiming to sublimate each of the lieux-dits in their possession by vinifying them individually. In 2007, the vines, handed down from father to son, came back into the hands of the very young Paul-Henry, assisted by oenologist Julien Zernott. Today, Domaine Pellé stretches over some forty hectares and still resonates with the echo of Menetou-Salon, becoming a key player in the appellation.
The wine
A vast mosaic of plots in Menetou-Salon, Les Bornés is a lovely introduction to the finesse of Domaine Pellé's Pinot Noir. The Kimmeridgian marl soil lends a fresh, suave touch to the rainsin, while the wood ageing process gives it great substance, resulting in a wine of red fruits such as wild strawberries and redcurrants, with a silky, delicate finish. Serving suggestion: Drink now. Tasting temperature between 14° and 15° No opening instructions.
Drink responsibly.
