The castle was built in the fourteenth century by the knights Durfort de Duras, and the viscount de Vivens added his name when he inherited it in 1824. Famous for the quality of its wine, the estate is bought and renovated in the sixties by Lucien Lurton and is now in the hands of his son Gonzague who gives it a new breath and produces very elegant. Located in the heart of the Margaux appellation, the propriety is conducted in biological and biodynamic agriculture and is certified HEV (High Environmental Value).
