The vineyard
The Belargus estate takes its name from the blue butterfly that populates its vineyards. The wines offered by the vineyard are remarkably precise and, for this reason, among the most sought-after Loire flacons. The estate's 24 hectares are farmed biodynamically. The estate produces a wide variety of parcel-based wines, with the aim of capturing all that the terroir has to offer.
The wine
Domaine Belargus' Coteaux du Layon is a blend of three parcels along the Layon River. The enveloping palate is well balanced by notes of fresh fruit and citrus. The obvious tension present in this cuvée brings plenty of freshness.
