The Domaine
The Pellé family's epic story began in Morogues in the 20th century. The estate is a treasure of parcels spread over the typical flint and Kimmeridgian marl soils. It is a strength the Pellé family places at the heart of their wine philosophy, aiming to sublimate every locality in its possession by vinifying them individually. In 2007, the vines, handed down from father to son, came back into the hands of the young Paul-Henry, assisted by the oenologist Julien Zernott. The estate nowadays extends over forty-two hectares and has become a key player in the appellation.
The wine
A vast mosaic of plots in Menetou-Salon, Les Bornés is a lovely introduction to the finesse of Domaine Pellé's Pinot Noir. The Kimmeridgian marl soil gives a fresh and sweet touch to the grapes while the wood aging process gives it great substance, resulting in a wine of red fruits such as wild strawberries and redcurrants, with a silky, delicate finish. Serving suggestion: Drink now. Serve at around 14°C - 15°C.
Drink responsibly.
