The estate

The Pellé estate is now run by Paul-Henry Pellé, the fourth generation of the family. The vast majority of the estate's plots are planted on Kimmeridgian marl, giving the wines their typical character and tension. Thanks to careful vine management and very low yields, the estate's wines are concentrated and extremely precise.

The wine

Le Caroir comes from a parcel of vines planted on sandy and flinty soils, giving the cuvée aromatic depth, density and body. This is a single-varietal Pinot Noir, with notes of red cherry, wild strawberry and black pepper, underpinned by ripe, supple tannins.
