    The vineyard

    Château Fonroque, of which Château Cartier is the second wine, was acquired by Adèle and Jean Moueix in 1931. The 20-hectare estate is now run by Alain Moueix.

    The wine

    Château Cartier is a typical Saint-Emillion appellation blend. Merlot predominates, bringing notes of black fruit, while Cabernet Franc contributes to the wine's structure and ripe tannins.
