The Domaine
This mythical estate was created in 1872 by William Ponsot, who bought vines in Morey-Saint-Denis, in particular the plot of Monts Luisants and Clos de la Roche. Generations pass and it is notably Laurent Ponsot with his sister Rose-Marie who will give the commercial impulse and make discover the already famous vintages at the international level. Today, the domain remains on a peasant philosophy, very respectful of nature, limiting human intervention to a maximum. The vines are pampered, and the vinification is serious, respecting the origin of the grapes but without distorting the philosophy of the domain. The wines are neither fined nor filtered.
The wine
2000 has been a quite good vintage in Burgundy and gave powerful notes of cherry and blackcurrant. The mouth develops a superb freshness though remains quite structured.
