The Wine estate
In 1999, a fantastic duo, Mathieu Cosse, oenologist of Château La Coste in Provence and Catherine Maisonneuve, former oenologist of Château Léoville-Las-Case in Saint-Julien, settled down in Lacapelle-Cabanac and started this beautiful adventure, which covers about twenty hectares to this day, and which is managed in biodynamic agriculture, with the noble dream of hoisting their suave, fine and elegant Malbecs to the Pantheon of the great red wines of France.
The wine
The forty year old vines of the Cuvée "Les Laquets" deliver a sanguine wine, with structured tannins and ripe black fruits and candied prunes, pushing the gustatory journey on a chalky finish due to the soil of this terroir made of limestone, red clay and iron. The 2019 vintage, although heterogeneous in the region, favored the wines of Cahors with a beautiful maturity and ideal climatic conditions during the harvest. Advice : To drink or to keep in cellar. Serve between 15°-16°C. Open a few hours in advance and/or decant.
