The castle was built in the 14th century by the knight Durfort de Duras. The Viscount de Vivens added his name when he inherited it in 1824. Famous for the quality of its wine, the estate was bought and renovated in the sixties by Lucien Lurton and is now in the hands of his son Gonzague who gave it a new breath and produces very elegant wines. Located in the heart of the Margaux appellation, the property is conducted in biological and biodynamic agriculture and is certified HEV (High Environmental Value).
