The domain
Le Clos des Papes is an iconic estate in the Rhône Valley. This vineyard has belonged to the Avril family for decades. The estate is composed of 24 plots with diverse and varied soils and microclimates. Thus, the estate offers a wide range of wine styles.
The wine
This Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Counoise, revealing notes of black cherry, ripe blackcurrant, and spices. The wood, perfectly integrated, thus leaves plenty of room for the terroir and the grape varieties. The tannins are silky and powerful.After 10 years in our cellars, the tannins of the 2015 vintage have refined and completely enhance the wine. In this half-bottle format, the tertiary aromas of truffle and smoked bacon are intense and fully contribute to the wine's complexity.
