The domain
From Thomas Barton, the Irish founder of his trading empire, to Hugh Barton, who is credited with the purchase of the Léoville vineyards to establish Château Léoville-Barton in 1826, this second Grand Cru Classé of the Médoc is one of the rare properties still owned by the same and only family. Today, it is Lilian Barton who oversees the 50 hectares of the estate alongside her husband and their two children.
The wine
This typical blend from the left bank of Cabernet Sauvignon, Franc, and Merlot offers a wine with notes of ripe dark fruits and silky, smooth tannins: signs of careful aging.
