The domain

The Sabon family has elevated the Domaine de la Janasse, once the name of the family farm located in the place called "La Janasse," to the rank of the Stars of Chateauneuf-du-Pape over the course of a few decades, now an essential estate covering around fifty hectares.



The wine

This single-varietal Grenache comes from vines planted in 1912 for the oldest ones, bringing immense concentration to the wine. The vineyard plots are planted on cold terroirs, consequently late. The harvest is done by hand, and a selection is made in the vineyard to preserve quality fruit. The tannins are perfectly integrated, and the wine reveals notes of violet and dark fruits alongside tertiary notes of game.
