The domain
The Domaine de l'A belongs to the Derenoncourt consulting family. On the vineyard, the family cultivates chardonnay, cabernet franc, and merlot vines. Located in Sainte-Colombe, on the right bank, the vineyard offers wines under the Castillon Côte de Bordeaux appellation.
The wine
This cuvée is a blend with a majority of Merlot complemented by Cabernet Franc. The wine is aged for 18 months in new oak barrels, with 40% being new. This imparts delicate secondary aromas of vanilla and cloves to the wine. The 2015 vintage also develops a certain complexity with tertiary notes of tobacco.
