The domain
The estate is taken over by the brothers Patrick and Christophe Bonnefond in 1990. The 10-hectare vineyard has made a name for itself thanks to wines whose quality is recognized worldwide. The winemaker produces several cuvées under the Condrieu and Côte-Rôtie appellations on the Coteaux de Rozier, Rochins, and Semons.
The wine
Les Rochins is a parcel selection cuvée from vines located to the north of the appellation, on the Côte Brune. Thanks to a full south exposure, the Syrah reaches full maturity and reveals notes of black plum, blackcurrant, and eucalyptus. The aging in 400-liter barrels, of which 30% are new, brings complexity and intensity to the wine. Thanks to the aging in the cellar, the cuvée has developed notes of game and underbrush.
