The estate
Founded in the early 20th century, the estate covers 14.5 hectares in the commune of Nuits-Saint-Georges. The estate is a benchmark in Burgundy, not only because it produces exceptional wines, but also and above all because Henri Gouge, its founder, did so much to promote Burgundy wines and their influence throughout the world. Today, Grégory and Antoine Gouges run the estate using organic viticulture methods.
The wine
For this premier cru, the plot is ideally situated in the middle of the slopes, providing the vines with the right soil and exposure for the grapes to ripen properly. Concentrated and structured, Les Vaucrains has benefited from ageing, developing tertiary notes of truffle in particular, without losing any of its freshness.
