Domaine Guigal Ex Voto 2003

Coming from old vines aged between 20 and 80 years, this Syrah has a very dark red color and aromas of candied black fruits. The aging in new barrels is barely noticeable. Magnificent.

    Description

    The domain

Founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in the heart of Ampuis and strengthened by Marcel Guigal starting in 1961, followed by Philippe Guigal, it is one of those legendary estates of the Rhône Valley. Famous for its "La-La-La" Côte-Rôtie (La Landonne, La Turque, and La Mouline), the estate continues to expand across the Rhône Valley, offering us Condrieu, Crozes, and Châteauneuf. In just 3 generations from father to son, they hold a total of 75 hectares.

    The wine

Dressed in a deep red color, it will unfold with magnificent aromas of blackcurrant and roasted blueberries, along with hints of pepper and cinnamon. With a broad and smooth mouthfeel, and firm yet discreet tannins, this true gem is ready to drink.
