The domain
From Thomas Barton, the Irish founder of his trading empire, to Hugh Barton, who is responsible for the purchase of the Léoville vineyards that gave rise to Château Léoville-Barton in 1826, this second classified growth of the Médoc is one of the rare estates still owned by the same family. Today, Lilian Barton reigns over the 50 hectares of the estate alongside her husband and their two children.
The wine
A structured and refined wine. The nose reveals aromas of ripe black fruits, blackcurrant, cedar, and tobacco, with hints of sweet spices and chocolate. On the palate, it is powerful and balanced, with firm yet elegant tannins and well-integrated acidity. The finish is long and complex, marked by notes of licorice and leather.
