    Description

    The domain

It was established by Jules Lafon at the end of the 19th century and later expanded in size, thanks to the family that acquired some plots of Montrachet and Volnay. René Lafon, grandson of Jules, initiated bottling at the estate in 1961. René's son, Dominique Lafon, is very well known for his winemaking talents.

    The wine

Champans is to the north of Santenots, practically beneath the village of Volnay. The earth is much lighter, with small pebbles and more soil thickness, on a weathered limestone rock. The wines are dense, less tannic than the Santenots, with aromas of dark fruits and good aging potential.
