The field
It was founded by Pierre Faiveley in Nuits-Saint-Georges in 1825. Seven generations of winemakers have succeeded one another, and today it is Erwan Faiveley who manages the 125 hectares of vineyards. The family has left a mark on the history of Burgundy wine, particularly Georges Faiveley, who after the Great Depression of 1929 had the idea to recreate, with his friend Camille Rodier, the Brotherhood of the Knights of Tastevin, a resurgence of ancient oenophilic brotherhoods.
The wine
Le Clos des Issarts is known for its refined and elegant wines, with an aromatic complexity influenced by its clay-limestone soils and a velvety texture.
