The Domaine
It was created in 1821, and William Ponsot with all the generations that followed has continued to grow the estate. Today managed by Rose-Marie Ponsot with the help of Alexandre Abel, it is recognized as one of the best in Burgundy and is a reference for the Morey-Saint-Denis among others. The property practices the non-interventionist philosophy to its fullest.
The wine
The five hectares of Chapelle Chambertin are completely surrounded by Grands and Premiers Crus; this cuvée is a legend among the legends. The estate is appreciated for its notes of ripe cherry, bitter cacao, and undergrowth almost reminiscent of black truffle, and masters the production of majestuous wines.
Amateurs know 2005 is one of the greatest vintages of the decade.
