The domain
William Ponsot established his business north of Nuits-Saint-Georges in 1872. Located on legendary terroirs, it is particularly known for its Grand Cru Clos de la Roche. Marie-Rose, the fourth generation, has been overseeing the estate since the beginning of 2017. Supported by Alexandre Abel, she favors a low-intervention viticulture, and her wines faithfully reflect the character of the soils.
The wine
This grand cru, located on the slopes of the Corton mountain, benefits from an exceptional terroir, composed of limestone soils and an optimal exposure that allows the grapes to develop under ideal conditions. The 2012 vintage is characterized by a meticulous harvest, with a rigorous selection of the grapes to keep only the finest, perfectly ripe ones.
