The Domaine

 The estate opts for very dense planting, which, among other things, produces highly concentrated grapes. Mr Boillot is particularly fond of the old Champ Canet vines planted by his grandfather. As the Alzingre family is focused on quality, the grapes are harvested by hand on the estate.

The wine

Les Referts 1999 is a concentrated Chardonnay that has benefited from ageing. The wine retains a refreshing tension and develops complex notes of orange peel and toasted almond.
