The domain
It was founded by Pierre Faiveley in Nuits-Saint-Georges in 1825. Seven generations of winemakers have succeeded each other since then, and today it is Erwan Faiveley who manages the 125 hectares of vineyards. The family has left its mark on the history of Burgundy wine, particularly Georges Faiveley who, following the Great Depression of 1929, had the idea to recreate with his friend Camille Rodier, the Brotherhood of the Knights of Tastevin, a resurgence of ancient wine-loving brotherhoods.
The wine
On the famous premier cru Les Cazetiers, the Faiveley estate offers a Pinot Noir with notes of red berries and black pepper. After aging in the bottle, the wine reveals notes of dried cranberries, underbrush, and cooked red plum.
