The domain
The castle takes its name from the Earl of Shrewsbury, John Talbot, a man of war and governor of the former province of Guyenne. It remained in the hands of the marquises of Aux de Lescout for several decades, before the winemaker and merchant Désiré Cordier acquired it in 1918. It is now the fourth generation that works on the delicate blending of pure and refined wines with a generous bouquet, which gain complexity over the years. The vineyard is certified High Environmental Value.
The wine
This exceptional aging wine reveals notes of ripe black fruits as well as more complex notes of vanilla, cinnamon, clove, and tobacco. Thanks to the years spent in the cellar, the tannins have softened and the wine has gained elegance.
