The domain
Located at the foot of the Schlossberg hill, Weinbach (wine stream in German) was built in 1612 by the Capuchin monks. Today managed by Catherine Faller with the help of her sons Eddy and Théo, it has 38 hectares of vineyards spread across the Kaysesberg valley. The estate has been managed biodynamically since 1990 to allow the terroirs to express themselves freely.
The wine
The grand cru Schlossberg is one of the historic ones; indeed, it was the first to obtain the status of grand cru. The Grand Cru located in the municipality of Kientzheim benefits from an ideal terroir with a full southern exposure and very steep slopes. The Riesling from the Weinbach estate has an intense aroma with notes of very ripe citrus fruits, exotic fruits, and white flowers. Thanks to its tension and concentration, the wine has been able to age and is now ready to be tasted.
