The domain
The Château Clerc Milon takes its name from its historical owners, the Clerc family. In 1970, the Château was taken over by Baron Philippe de Rothschild. To this day, the estate still belongs to the Rothschild family. The vineyards cover an area of 41 hectares. The soils are varied in the vineyard, but the vast majority of gravel soils allow for the cultivation of traditional grape varieties: cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and petit verdot.
The wine
The 2009 vintage is a blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc, petit verdot, and carménère. This vintage reveals notes of very ripe black fruits such as blackcurrant alongside floral and licorice notes. The palate is smooth, and the wine has benefited from the passage of time, revealing elegance and finesse.
