The estate

Alphonse Mellot and his daughter Emmanuelle currently run this 50-hectare estate in the Loire. Focusing on the quality of their wines, the duo manage their vines biodynamically, opting for low yields and manual labour in the vineyard and cellar.

The wine

Pinot Noir is the only red grape variety authorised in the Sancerre appellation, and makes up the entire cuvée La Demoiselle. Made from fruit grown in flinty clay soil, this wine has notes of red cherry and black pepper alongside stony notes.
