Meursault 1er Cru

The domain

Founded by Jules Lafon at the end of the 19th century, the estate is originally located in Meursault. The family subsequently acquires some plots in Montrachet and Volnay. Dominique Lafon, son of René, is well known for his winemaking talents. Jules, his son, and René Lafon's grandson initiated bottling at the estate in 1961.



The wine

This small plot planted on very stony soil is ideally situated, sheltered from the wind and benefiting from the sun, whose rays' heat intensifies as they reflect off the stones. As powerful as it is mineral, our wine offers an unmatched breadth and length on the palate, and has great aging potential, capable of exceeding twenty years before reaching its moment of glory.



Service tips

Can be still stored in the cellar.

Does not require decanting.

To be served preferably around 12°C - 13°C degrees.
