The estate
The estate was taken over in April 2012 by Fabienne, Michel and their children Émilie and Fabien. The family, who do not come from a wine-growing background, set themselves a real challenge when they took over this 15-hectare estate in 2012. Situated in the heart of Provence, the vineyard has a highly atypical layout, creating a veritable eco-system. It consists of old vines spread over 15 hectares in a single block and surrounded by woodland.
The wine
Ursus comes from a majorirairement plot planted with Syrah and a small proportion of Grenache. The vines face north, producing wines full of freshness. The wine is marked by notes of red and black fruit alongside floral notes of peony and black pepper. The tannins are powerful yet silky, offering an elegant structure.
