The domain
Created at the end of the 19th century by Jean Grivot, it is now managed by Étienne Grivot. The estate covers an area of 14.72 hectares and produces 18 wines, mostly reds, including some Grand Crus like Richebourg or Clos-de-Vougeot. The estate follows a logic of organic viticulture without certification.
The wine
The Grivot estate vinifies in a traditional manner, particularly by aging its Grand Cru wines in wood. The result is an Échezeaux with notes of ripe red fruits, black pepper, all with a hint of cinnamon. Sign of a long cellar aging, this wine reveals notes of forest moss and earth.
