Le Clos des Papes is an iconic estate in the Rhône Valley. This vineyard has belonged to the Avril family for decades. The estate consists of 24 plots with diverse and varied soils and microclimates. Thus, the estate offers a wide range of wine styles.
The wine
This Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Counoise and reveals notes of black cherry, ripe blackcurrant, and spices. The wood, perfectly integrated, thus allows the terroir and the grape varieties to shine. The tannins are silky and powerful.After a few years of aging in our cellars, the wine reveals complex aromas of smoked bacon and black truffles.
