Domaine Graeme et Julie Bott First Flight 2022

The Ampuis estate covers 7 hectares. It produces a Syrah with intense aromas and ripe tannins that are perfectly integrated into the wine. Notes of black fruit and leather, typical of this Rhône varietal, contribute to the wine's complexity.

    Description

    The estate

Located in Ampuis, the 7-hectare estate is run by Julie and Graeme Bott. Nothing predestined them for winegrowing, yet today they produce wines in the Condrieu, Saint-Joseph and Côte-Rotie appellations. The couple vinify the grapes plot by plot, giving free rein to the expression of the terroir.

    The wine

First Flight is an approachable Syrah with notes of black fruit and eucalyptus. This cuvée is remarkably well-balanced, with notes of ripe fruit and a tension that adds freshness.
