The estate
Jean-Luc Thunevin succeeded in propelling Château Valandraud from garage wine in 1991 to Premier Grand Cru Classé de Saint-Émilon in 2012. Murielle, his wife, and Jean-Luc continue to run the Château today.
The wine
Valérie de Valandraud is the Château's second wine, named after the owners' daughter. The 2015 vintage is made up of a majority of Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc. After ageing in new oak, the wine has gained in harmony and developed notes of vanilla and cloves.
