The estate

In the Loire Valley, south of Angers, Bénédicte and Luc Briand manage the 30-hectare vineyard with the greatest respect for the environment and the vines. The soils are a combination of different types of schist and volcanic rock, so each of the estate's vintages has its own distinctive style.

The wine

Gran Vau is a cuvée made from the plot of the same name. The vines thrive on a soil of volcanic rhyolite, giving the Chenin smoky notes. Facing due south, the plot produces healthy, fully-ripened fruit. The Terra Vita Vinum estate has produced a cuvée with great aromatic depth and intensity.
