Description
The estate
Alains Mathias created the estate from scratch in 1982. In 2015, Carole and Bastien Mathias joined the domaine. The estate covers 13 hectares. The family estate produces red and white wines exclusively from pinot noir and chardonnay.
The wine
The cuvée comes from a single plot in the Epineuil vineyard: Côte deGrisey. This plot combines all the conditions required to make great wines: a south-easterly exposure, a steep slope and poor soil. This Chardonnay is remarkably concentrated, with notes of green fruit such as apple and pear: a fine discovery of the appellation.
