The vineyard
Matthieu Barret has been tending the 10 hectares of vines in the Cornas appellation on ideally exposed terraces since 1998. In order to preserve the varietal character of the Syrah and to reflect the terroir, the wines are matured in 400-litre barrels for several wines.
The wine
This single-varietal Syrah is a perfect balance between the finesse and pepperiness of a Northern Rhône Syrah and the structure and ripe aromatics of a Southern Rhône Syrah. Petit ours opens with notes of ripe black fruit such as blackcurrant and blackberry, and hints of eucalyptus and black pepper.
