    Description

    The vineyard

The vineyard in Aiton in Savoie is run by Maxime Dancoine. The vines benefit from an ideal terroir with steep, south-facing slopes. With such a topography, the winemaker does all the work in the vineyard by hand. The vineyards boast a huge diversity of grape varieties, enabling Maxime Dancoine to produce a multitude of wine styles.

    The wine

This cuvée is a single-varietal Mondeuse. The grapes for this cuvée come from a single plot of vines on the steep slope of Les Puttets. The steepness of the slope and the fact that the vines are trained using the gobelet method mean that there is no option other than working the vines by hand. The wine is concentrated, with notes of spice and black fruit, underpinned by powerful tannins.
