The domain
Founded in the 18th century in Volnay, it encompassed a mosaic of 12 hectares of certain Grand Crus from the Côte de Nuits and numerous Premier Crus from Volnay. After a tragic crisis, he went from 12 to 3 hectares around the family estate. In 1947, Hubert de Montille revolutionized ownership by stopping the sale of wines to merchants, and Etienne made his mark in the estate alongside his father starting in 1980. Transitioning to organic farming and then to biodynamic practices, expanding their estate throughout Burgundy and acquiring the Château de Puligny-Montrachet, Étienne and his sister Alix have elevated their family story and their estate among the legends of Burgundy.
The wine
The wine exhibits elegant aromas of white fruits such as pear and apple, accompanied by notes of white flowers and mineral nuances. On the palate, it reveals a creamy texture, vibrant acidity, and a beautiful length, with a slightly buttery and spicy finish.
