Clément Hamette is installed near the Fontainebleau forest, in the small village of Bourron-Marlotte in Seine-et-Marne. He is the heir of the fifth generation who was already selling honey on the markets in 1910.
In 1976, Paul Hamette, the grandfather of Clément, ceased cultivating vegetables to dedicate himself to beekeeping. He shared his passion for his son, and then his grandson Clément, who took over the exploitation in 2019.
He has around a thousand hives, located in the departments of Seine-et-Marne, Yonne, and Loiret, and divided into groups of thirty, proportionally to the possibilities for bees to forage locally. The Hamette family indeed practices the transhumance of hives, consisting in moving them according to the blooming of flowers and always looking for the best terroir. Near the lime trees in June, close to brambles in August… following the flora.
