The domain
The Morgeot Abbey, located at the gates of Chassagne-Montrachet, has belonged to the Mac Mahon family since 1960, the dynasty of dukes and duchesses of Magenta residing within the sublime Sully Castle. It was at the Louis Jadot estate that the 12 hectares of vines across the Côte de Beaune were restored in the 1970s to be cultivated and to enhance the Duc de Magenta estate.
The wine
The 1997 vintage in Burgundy was marked by varied weather conditions, with a hot and dry summer followed by a rainy autumn. Our wine is characterized here by rich aromas of white-fleshed fruits and almonds, along with buttery notes. It offers a lovely roundness on the palate, with a creamy texture and balanced acidity.
