The Domaine

François Villard could have been a great cook but he deep inside felt like a winemaker. While continuing his training in cooking, he started to study the jobs of sommelier and winegrower, met producers, and only dreamt of "2 hectares of vines". He takes action in 1988 and decides to buy his first vine in Saint Joseph while following training by the side of Yves Cuilleron to perfect his knowledge. He did not stop to work with passion since then. The property more than doubled and counts a few more appellations as Saint-Peray, a regional star.

The wine

This unique wine reveals the personality of François Villard. It is marked by spicy and woody notes that wonderfully blend. 2002 has been a complicated year but with a 22-month aging, the winemaker made this wine dense and rich with superb aromas of dark fruits.
