The domain

Jean-Luc Thunevin managed to elevate Château Valandraud from the status of garage wine in 1991 to that of premier Grand Cru classé of Saint-Émilion in 2012. To this day, Murielle, his wife, and Jean-Luc are still the managers of this Château.



The wine

The 2005 vintage is composed of a majority of Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc. After 22 months of aging in new oak barrels, the wine gained harmony and developed notes of vanilla and clove. After several years in our cellars, the tannins have refined, and tertiary aromas contribute to the wine's complexity.
